Description
How to Ask for What You Want to Get Your Needs Met
Workshop | Sun., Dec. 12th | 5:30 to 9:00 PM | West Hartford, CT
Bring a Friend and Take 20% Off!
Why are we offering a workshop on how to ask for what you want? It seems so simple and it is our right, but so many of us don’t know how to effectively ask for things in a way that is a positive experience for both the person asking and the one receiving. Then as a receiver, we often respond in such a way that can damage our relationships or get the opposite of what we really want.
This workshop will provide you with understanding and new strategies and techniques to get your needs met. By transforming your communication skills you can improve your life satisfaction. You can apply these skills to relationships with both adults and kids, work environments, volunteering — anything!
Often times we don’t even know what we want and then we don’t say what we want, because we are afraid of getting hurt, of hurting others, or of being perceived a certain way, such as bossy, dumb, weak, etc.
We will help you determine what it is you want and how to speak it. We will teach you how to give generously without attachment to outcome.
This is an interactive workshop in a safe, non-judgemental environment. You will work in groups of three people where one person receives and two people do the giving.
We will practice giving from our bodies, in a calm place with a ventral vagal breath. We will learn what it means to have a calm mind and give with an open heart.
LGBTQI+ and all relationship orientations welcome. You can come on your own or bring your partner or a friend (and get a discount for two people). However, this event is not focused on couples.
