Melody Atkinson, LMFT
I’m Melody, an LMFT specializing in trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, identity exploration, and LGBTQ+ relationships. I work with individuals and couples navigating childhood trauma, family rejection or estrangement, and ADHD overlap. My clients are often Gen Z and Millennial LGBTQ+ folks seeking deep, long-term work to feel more whole in their lives and identities.
I provide a safe, collaborative space to explore your story and understand how your experiences have shaped you. My approach is integrative and humanistic: drawing from EMDR, narrative therapy, parts theory, and post-modern techniques. I often bring creativity, humor, and art into sessions when it feels right. Clients often tell me they appreciate my compassion, understanding, and ability to normalize their experiences. My goal is to create a space without shame, where real human connection comes first.
I believe therapy should be a place where you can be fully seen, fully heard, and maybe even laugh a little along the way – because healing is serious work, but it doesn’t have to be joyless.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife and our two sweet pups, Juniper and Peach, and I bring a bit of that warmth and playfulness to the way I connect with clients in sessions.
