Do All Women Climax?
Do All Women Climax? Why Penetration Isn’t Enough
Do all women climax from penetration alone? Most don’t.
In this episode, AASECT-certified sex therapist Amanda Pasciucco, PhD, explains why the usual fixes fail. Longer thrusting, constant position changes, or brief foreplay followed by penetration rarely solve the problem. She shares clear data from a large 2018 U.S. study: only about 18% of women orgasm from intercourse alone.
Most women need clitoral stimulation to climax reliably. The pleasure gap between heterosexual couples and women partnered with women comes mainly from sexual scripts, not anatomy. She covers why the clitoris is the only organ whose sole job is pleasure, why “wet” is only the starting point, and the practical rule that changes the main event: keep clitoral stimulation going the entire time (pairing).
In addition, she walks through two simple approaches couples actually use. Finally, she shares what to say out loud before clothes come off so her pleasure stays the focus.
